During the fourteen years I have been on this planet, I have definitely learnt a thing or two (or three) about the importance of staying positive. Staying positive keeps your physical and mental health strong and without a doubt makes you feel better about not-so-good situations.
Yes, we have many things that we could complain about at this very minute- homework, friends, not getting enough sleep, that annoying guy on the bus today (just to name a few),but we really need to ask ourselves: what happens when we complain? It's not like our problems suddenly go away and disappear. No. When we complain we project negativity into ourselves, the people around us and the world. What we really should be doing instead of complaining and being negative is finding the good in the bad and being grateful for everything in our lives. For example:
Complaint:
I have too much boring homework
What you should be saying:
Wow, I have a lot of homework but that's because I have the privilege of going to school everyday and learning heaps of new, cool things.
See what I mean? Positivity instantly turns a bad situation (in your perspective) to a happy one! Try doing this next time you have a negative thought about your day!
Hopefully this will brighten up a lot of people's days...
